About Us
|
Ottergeography believes that learning geography is fun!
Not only can geography be enjoyable, but a greater appreciation of people,
places, and cultures can enrich our minds and help us better understand our
place on this earth. We have connected the name “Otter” to the company for
two reasons. First, it is part of our last name. Second, otters are known for
being playful as they go about their lives and this image helps define our goal
of making geography a more engaging and approachable subject.
Ottergeography is directed by a husband and wife team, Samuel and Lori Otterstrom.
Sam is an associate professor of geography at Brigham Young University, and Lori
holds an MEd from BrighamYoung University with an emphasis in geography education.
We have varied experiences in this exciting field, from teaching in elementary school
and college, to urban planning, international political and business risk analysis,
business site location consulting, weather broadcasting, and research in the
population and historical geography of the United States, Central America, and
Eastern Europe.
